Tawna Schilling’s primary practice is first-party property insurance litigation.
Prior to joining Weisser, Elazar & Kantor, Tawna was a partner in a large Florida firm spending 12 years defending home, vehicle, and business owners in third-party disputes. Her areas of practice included premise liability, wrongful death, negligent security, vehicle negligence, HOA disputes, and property damage. She took many cases through trial to verdict. For years Tawna worked with carriers defending policyholders per the rights afforded them by their insurance policies.
She now uses that experience and knowledge to represent policyholders against their carriers to ensure they get the benefits owed them by those policies. Tawna grew up on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and earned her bachelor’s degree in English graduating cum laude from Stonehill College. After graduating in 2001, she spent years working in the legal field before resolving to become an attorney herself. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law in 2008 and was awarded the Victor O Wehle Award for excellence in Trial Advocacy. Tawna is licensed to practice in all Florida state courts and the Middle District of Florida.
In her spare time, you will find Tawna on the golf course…likely looking for her ball. She also loves watching football and cheering on all her hometown Boston teams. And, most importantly, spending time with her fiancé and her two fur babies.
