Mr. DeGennaro joined WEK in 2025, bringing with him over a decade of experience in the industry, where he has represented both insurers and insureds in homeowners insurance disputes, as well as various civil matters, including maritime disputes involving vessels and injured passengers and general contractual and business disputes.
Before joining WEK, Mr. DeGennaro graduated from both the University of Miami and the University of Miami School of Law. Through his career he has worked on both sides of the aisle, representing insurers and insureds in lawsuits and handling numerous trials across the state of Florida. An accomplished trial attorney, he has experience guiding cases from initial filing through jury trial. Additionally, he is admitted to practice in all three federal court districts in Florida and has tried cases in both federal and state courts throughout the state.
As a lifelong Floridian, Mr. DeGennaro brings a unique perspective to the industry—not only as an attorney but also as a citizen who has seen the arguments presented from both the insured and insurer sides. His ability to understand and bridge the gaps in these disputes sets him apart. He strives to communicate each party’s position accurately, aiming to resolve disputes before they proceed to trial. However, when necessary, he is fully prepared to litigate, having successfully tried multiple cases to verdict.
In his free time, Britt enjoys spending time with his family—his wife, daughter, two dogs, and three cats are all part of the crew. He also enjoys golfing, fishing, boating, and exploring the outdoor spaces that South Florida has to offer.
